A Bit About Me
Scott is a Senior Partner at Dillon Consulting Limited (DCL). He has thirty nine (39) years of Mechanical Consulting Engineering experience.
Over his extensive career, Scott has gained significant experience in all aspects of Building Mechanical services/systems design, marketing, project management, integration of Mechanical and Electrical systems to optimize Building performance and minimize operational costs, energy conservation, energy management, renewable technologies, life cycle cost analysis (LCCA), high performance sequences of operations for controls systems, advancing projects towards Net Zero Energy, co-ordination between Engineers and Technologists and other members of the design team; preparation of specifications and reports, equipment selection, commissioning, contract administration and site inspections.
Scott’s technical background and communication skills enable him to quickly resolve conflicts between the construction Team and the Client representatives. Scott has a unique ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with all project key stakeholders, making sure everyone is treated fairly. This is one of his most valued assets.
Scott’s portfolio is rich with commercial, institutional and light industrial projects. Scott was the lead Mechanical Design Engineer for numerous residential, commercial, and light industrial projects over the years, including several WWTP’s, STP’s, and WTP’s. He was also involved with the HRM Ragged Lake project in Halifax, NS; the 2011 Canada Winter Games facility project in Halifax, NS, the ASHRAE award winning Federally Sentenced Women’s Facility/Institution in Truro, NS and the ASHRAE award winning Riverside Education Centre in Milford, NS.
Scott is a registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professionals Engineers of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Scott is also a member of ASHRAE, the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) and the Building Commissioning Association (BCA).
Scott is also involved with the Nova Scotia Architects Association (NSAA) - Complaints Committee Member and is an active member of the Provincial Committee for the Consulting Engineers of Nova Scotia (CENS).
Scott served on the Board of Directors for the Design and Construction Institute (DCI) of Nova Scotia for five (5) years.
