About the event
Sustainable Laboratory Design and Construction based on Holistic Life Cycle Approach
Labs are heavy consumers of energy, water and generate excessive waste. They can consume 5 to 10 times more energy than office buildings and ventilation (HVAC) design can play a critical role in improving energy performance. This presentation will provide a holistic view of high performance decarbonization strategies for laboratory infrastructure based on a life cycle approach. The presentation will provide some highlights from Laboratories Canada’s Lab Design Guideline (RLDF), I2SL’s Labs2Zero as well as some high-performance A&E strategies.
Presentation Overview:
Introduction to Laboratories Canada’s Design Principles and Holistic Approach to Sustainability
Understand how science laboratories differ from other types of infrastructure in terms of sustainable design and operations ”.
Holistic A&E Design for sustainable laboratory Infrastructure
